ICPHSO Advocacy Award

Purpose and Background

• Established December 2024, this award is given to honor ICPHSO members whose advocacy for product safety generally or for a specific issue rises to the level deserving of recognition. This is not an annual award.
•  The award is to be given when a candidate is deserving of such recognition as a result of their advocacy of a specific product safety issue.
• The award is to be given only when someone’s advocacy has made a significant contribution to advance product safety whether globally or domestically.

Nomination Process

• The Executive Committee, upon the advice and guidance of the Executive Director, shall nominate an individual to receive the award for consideration by the Board of Directors.
• The Board of Directors shall consider the nomination of the Executive Committee and vote to approve or disapprove the nominee for receipt of the award.
• The Board can nominate for Executive Committee consideration other potential candidates.
  

Qualifications

• Qualifications Generally: It is not mandatory that a nominee satisfy every qualification listed.
• ICPHSO Core Values: Individuals who have embraced the ICPHSO Core Values and exemplified them throughout their time as an ICPHSO member.
• Significance of Service to Product Safety: Individuals who have helped change and advance product safety through their individual actions or by leading a group or team or organization shall be recognized.
• Board Service: The award can be given to a past Board member. Serving on the Board, however, is not a requirement for eligibility.

Benefits to Recipient
The recipient will receive a Lifetime ICPHSO Membership and a Recognition Award.
