Design Safety Tool Kit

ICPHSO is pleased to offer the Design Safety Toolkit free of charge to the product safety community. ICPHSO supports the product safety industry by providing valuable information and resources that promote global product safety. Distributing this toolkit at no cost aims to assist professionals and others in designing and planning consumer products with safety considerations integrated from the outset—ultimately fostering safer products for consumers.

The Design Safety Toolkit addresses the following topics:
• The importance of prioritizing the end-user from the early stages of development
• The significance of research and strategies for effective incorporation at any budget
• Design principles that promote intuitive and safe use
• Fundamental considerations for safe marketing practices
• Age-specific and developmental factors in product design
• Insights into consumer behavior and designing for safety in real-world applications

The curriculum is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of experts specializing in children’s products, covering all aspects from design and research to safety, testing, legal compliance, manufacturing, and marketing. This comprehensive program is ideal for professionals and others involved in or having an interest in children’s product development.
