Navigating the Meeting
The biggest challenge of navigating the Annual Meeting can be determining which of the many sessions to attend each day and how to budget your time! We highly recommend looking at the program in advance and picking out the sessions that are most relevant to you.
Plenary Sessions: the plenary sessions serve as the main opportunity during the day where the ICPHSO community is brought together for inspiration and to hear key note speakers.
Tutorials: Provides practical tools, advice and examples to address product safety concerns.
Lunch and Learns: Grab a box lunch and listen and learn from experts. All registered attendees are encouraged to attend and participate in this unique learning opportunity to kick off the symposium.
Breakout Sessions: Smaller and diverse panel discussions on specific topics.
Exhibitor Breaks: these mini-breaks provide a great chance to network while checking out the goods and services offered by ICPHSO exhibitors.
Receptions: All symposium registered attendees are invited to attend the receptions. Come meet other attendees, while visiting the exhibitor booths. Two complimentary drinks and appetizers will be provided.
Other Services at the Conference
Internet: The conference room will have complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel has Internet access available in their business centers as well as the guest rooms.
What to Pack
Attire is business casual: slacks, button-down tops, sweaters, blazers, skirts, blouses, and comfortable business shoes. However, presenters often dress more professionally on the days of their presentations. We also recommend you dress in layers as temperatures in meeting rooms can vary.
Notebook or laptop for taking notes
Portable battery charger
After the Meeting
Decompress and reflect on the new insights and learnings that you took away.
Follow up with the people you met. Leverage LinkedIn and other professional networking sites to connect with new colleagues after the conference.
Plan to submit a proposal for the next Annual or Regional Meeting.
Long Time Attendee Tips
Keep your name badge on. Your name badge will indicate that this is your first time at ICPHSO and invite other attendees to stay hi and find out a little bit about you.
Attend the first timers’ breakfast. This will provide a dedicated time to meet other first timers and get acquainted with the busy conference schedule. It will be a fun and informative gathering where you will learn a little bit more about ICPHSO as well as tips to ensure you have a great conference experience.
Don’t be afraid to speak up. While you’re here, challenge yourself to push out of your comfort zone by speaking more than usual, ask questions during panels and introduce yourself to as many people as you can. Make sure to participate in the panels, meals and outings with other people.
Find a Note Taking Buddy. If you are at ICPHSO by yourself it can be a challenge to attend all the sessions. Find another ICPHSO attendee who is attending different sessions and agree to share notes and learnings.
Download the ICPHSO app. The app has all the information your will need for the conference and serves as the main tool to engage during the sessions. Instructions for download will be sent closer to the meeting.
