Volunteers Always Wanted!
ICPHSO, founded in 1993, relies upon volunteers to meet its mission of being an international neutral forum for product safety stakeholders to learn, network, and share information. ICPHSO's primary responsibility is to plan and implement three conferences a year for all product safety stakeholders. The Annual Symposium at the end of February (two years in Orlando and every third year in the Washington, D.C. area); an International Symposium in a different country every year with ICPHSO collaborating with the European Commission every second year in Brussels during International Product Safety Week; and the third conference, the North America Training Workshop at a location in North America, usually at a member or attendees headquarters office or meeting facility.
ICPHSO is led by volunteer Board of Directors who determine basic policies, set goals and objectives, elect officers and approves the budget in accordance with the bylaws of the organization.
Individual product safety stakeholders can volunteer and assist ICPHSO in many different ways. For some volunteer work, you do need to be an ICPHSO member, although if you choose not to join, you can still volunteer and contribute to the organization. Members do receive special benefits not available to non-members. Below are just some of the ways product safety and health professionals can get involved in ICPHSO activities throughout the year. As mentioned, some of these tasks do require ICPHSO membership, which we hope all would consider and then being able to fully participate in all ICPHSO-related activities.
